The Solution AimServe project team worked closely with end user’s IT team to perform a thorough diagnosis and gap analysis on the existing workflow, system requirements and IT infrastructure setup. Compiere, a famous Open Source ERP, was finally proposed and accepted by end user as the system solution which is very user-friendly, highly adaptable and has many unique features to fulfill customer’s needs. In addition, AimServe proposed to adopt Diyixian’s DYXnet OneVPN Enterprise Solution (Ethernet Interface MPLS IPVPN with ADSL backup) together with an existing E1 IPLC (V.35 interface) to form a load-balancing infrastructure for high availability purpose. After deployment, it is estimated that the end user’s productivity has improved around 15% which has shown excellent ROI to its management. This is a 2.0 paradigm. The launch of Netscape web browser and Google search engine, in 1994 and 1996 respectively, changed the ways mankind accessing information. The ways people used to work were changed too! Teamwork and friendship were no longer bounded by geographical distance! The Internet transformed the world into a global village in the last decade. In 2004, Tim O’Reilly advocated Web 2.0, a new terminology describing the second generation of Internet communities and services. Web 2.0 represents the revolution in the ways people share, collaborate and create! Freedom of information access empowers customers to shape the ways they buy. More than 70% Internet users will research product features and user feedbacks before they buy. Simple resale is no longer a sustainable business model. Seller-market is fading. Customers are now demanding to work jointly with their suppliers to create personalized solutions. Businesses which provide customers better buying experiences are winners. Selling approach is revolutionizing to better engage customers. Sales professionals should use Sales 2.0 techniques and tools to sell in the Web 2.0 era. The first generation Sales 1.0 approach was to sell physically, to sell product and build customer relationship in person. In the new Sales 2.0 paradigm, we are selling both physically and virtually, to build up human networks amid web communities and to build up web communities amid human networks. In the last 4 articles we shared with you our own experiences of using Unified Communications. UC components such as IPT, FMC, CTI and Online Collaboration, etc, are aiming to help people to communicate more efficiently and effectively! Communications form experiences. UC is our major Sales 2.0 tool! We are now selling anytime and anyplace customers want: “Hi Andy, our product manager and I would like to explain to you more about the products we recommend to you last week. We would like to learn more about your requirements so that we could discuss how to structure our services in order to meet you company ROI target. Are you available to join a web meeting tomorrow morning?” “Tony would you please arrange the meeting at tomorrow 11a.m.? Our CIO is now in Beijing and he will join the meeting too. Let’s meet someday in Taipei after the web meeting if your services meet our requirements.” “It is great, Andy! I will send out the web meeting invitation to you by email. Let’s talk again tomorrow morning. Thank you very much. Bye.” “See you tomorrow Tony. Bye.” Are you a 2.0 salesperson? |
