DYXnet Attended Pacific Telecommunication Council 2009 (PTC 09)

PTC (Pacific Telecommunication Council) is an international, non-profit, non-governmental membership organization dedicated to the promotion of the benefits of telecommunications throughout the entire Pacific Rim .

More than thousands of senior executives of major telcos around the world attended the PTC 09 conference at Hawaii . DYXnet has also joined the PTC 09 from 18 to 21 Jan 2009 at Honolulu of Hawaii, USA .

In three days of conference, DYXnet has conducted more than 20 meetings to discuss partnership and business opportunities with major telco/carriers in US, Asia and Europe . Feedback is very positive with great appreciation of DYXnet's assets and achievements in Greater China region. On the other hand DYXnet has identified several key partners for enhancing its products and network coverage.  This should help enhancing the service level and comprehensiveness of solutions for DYXnet's valuable customers.

How to make sure your most valuable customers are happy and will keep coming back to your website?  Integrated system and network solution will do.

In 2008 Q4, one of Diyixian’s business partners – Super Effort Technology Ltd. (Super Effort), an IT solutions consulting company, engaged with Diyixian to provide a total ICT solution to one of its customers, aiming to improve the QoE (Quality of Experience) for their website user through better system functionality and shorter response time.

Super Effort mainly provides consultation services on LAN and WAN environments, and complementary services including hardware purchase, software support, web design & management, ERP solutions setup and IDC management services.

Customer Background
The enduser customer is a Hong Kong based online stock trading company. They offer an one-stop online trading system for trading HK & foreign stocks, futures, stocks options and appication for IPO stocks in a fully automated manner.

Situation
In stock market, every second counts. Good QoE means instant and automated stock & market information update even with growing customer base and increase in product complexity. However it is proven to be a challenge for the system to include more and more functions without adversely affecting the response time, especially if the customer is assessing the website from Mainland China which usually results in inconsistent and long latency due to network issues. This has become a priority item to the IT team since customers from Mainland China have been proven to be premium customers with higher growth rate.

The Solutions:

System-wise: Super Effort was the ERP solution provider for the customer. After discussing with customer’s management team about their concerns, a web solution integrated with their ERP solution was proposed and accepted. As all workflows and the website were unified into a single platform, all workflow process and information flow were dramatically enhanced. This results in higher process efficiency and shorter delay in updated information posting.

Network-wise: Diyixian provided a dual-broadband Internet access solutions with auto-failover setting plus a very special IP-tunneling solution, providing a virtual presence of customer’s servers in China with local IP addresses and a guaranteed path between user and the server with much better performance. After this deployment, quality of all connections from Greater China was significantly improved.

Overall, customer was satisfied with the solution and the actualized benefits.

In the next phase, customer is considering moving all their servers from office to DYX IDC in Tsuen Wan and San Po Kong for better redundancy and operating environment. Super Effort and Diyixian will continue to work together to provide the best solution for the customer.
