Recently, one of Diyixian’s business partners - Objective Solutions Limited (OSL) has held a seminar for HK Gold & Silver Ornament Workers & Merchants General Union on 7 Jan 09. The major theme of this seminar was discussion and sharing on how Information Technology helped them survive in this financial crisis.

Diyixian was invited to be a guest speaker about improving business communications by using video conferencing, IP phone and ERP system on VPN. The seminar attracted more than 60 jewelry manufacturers, wholesalers and retail sellers to attend and the time was well spent with interesting topics in various aspects (e.g., RFID, digital printing, online trading and software application) and useful ideas.

Diyixian will continue to provide innovative and comprehensive ICT solutions in response to different demand of different market segment and industry. In addition, apart from continuous network expansion in Greater China region, Diyixian will also spread out to other Asia Pacific regions in hope of bringing the best solutions and values for its customers in a wider geographical scope.

CASE STUDY

Total network solution improves efficiency of communications

In 2008 Q4, one of Diyixian’s Business Partners – Netsolutions Limited (Netsolutions) (www.netsolutions.com.hk), a well established Internet solutions consultant engaged with Diyixian to provide a total ICT solution to one of its customers, which aims to improve the efficiency of communications. Netsolutions is dedicated to providing world-class IT services at affordable price with their experienced, friendly staff. Their solutions include industrial-strength network and server hardware system integration together with a wide range of offers in web application and hosting services.

Customer Background
The end-user is a Hong Kong based garment manufacturer with a factory located in China , specializing in design and production of garment products exporting to many countries all over the world. As the company continues to expand, communications between staff, customers and partners by means of email, phone calls, and company website are important.

Situation
Using IDD to contact their clients worldwide from their China office was one of their major expenses. For their internal staff, a Voice over IP (VoIP) system with a poor network quality kept making them frustrated, so many of them continue to use IDD to make internal call. Secondly, many of their customers complained that no response was given after their email orders had been sent for long time, but in fact none of their staff received such emails. The cause of this problem cannot be found in hardware or software aspects.

Furthermore, the customer wants to dramatically improve the cost effectness for reaching new customers worldwide. Traditional means like cold calls or fax were cost-ineffective. They want to publicize their company image and product through more efficient means.

The Solutions
As IT consultant, Netsolutions checked all related parts of existing solutions, and discussed with customer management to know what they concerned and expected. Finally, the following solutions were proposed by Netsolutions and Diyixian:

  • Diyixian MPLS VPN connection between their offices, which is a high quality network connection for their VoIP, ERP systems and file transfer systems. As the VoIP quality was improved, calls from their China office can now experience similar quality as in their Hong Kong office and enjoy the same low IDD rates.
  • Server Colocation in Diyixian Hong Kong Data Centre, for their web server and email server. After hosting in our HK Data Center, complaints from customers about email failure were greatly reduced.
  • Website designed and managed by Netsolutions, which they can now publish news of their company in their website for their worldwide potential customers.

After deployment of the total solutions, end-user was satisfied with the communications improvement, as well as the cost saving and new business opportunities.
