The enduser is a worldwide luxury brand in fashion and retail product industry. Their products cover wines, fashion & leather goods, perfumes & cosmetics, watches & jewelry, etc. Their retail shops are located in many premium plazas and malls in Hong Kong .

Situation
The research of The University of Texas Center on Information Systems shows that nearly half the companies that lose their data in a disaster never reopen, and 90% of them are out of business within 5 years. So many companies have incorporated business continuity into their core business strategy which will affect Information Technology and Operation design and purchase decisions. With no exception, the enduser has been given requirements on business continuity from their headquarter for backup of all the information and data to a remote site.

The Solutions

System-wise:
ICO worked as the solution consultant for the customer. After discussing with customer’s management team about their concerns, IBM servers with replication solution would be used to support all of their data storages and systems backup.

Network-wise:
Diyixian provided two dedicated server racks in DYX IDC with dedicated network connections to their main site, which is then connected to their global MPLS network. After this deployment, all the data are replicated to the servers in Diyixian’s IDC with high standard of facility management and environmental control, and the headquarter’s requirements have been fulfilled in a very cost effective way.

Overall, customer was satisfied with the solution and the actualized benefits.
